Daily Preschool Activities
ARRIVAL
As the students arrive each morning, they have a chance to choose an activity and to say hello to their friends. After about 20 minutes, students help to clean-up and meet on the carpet for the "Morning Meeting".
MORNING MEETING
Students meet and begin the day with a greeting song, participate in calendar and weather activities, classroom jobs are assigned, and the "Morning Message" is read. New concepts and the weekly themes are introduced at this time.
CENTER ACTIVITIES
The students work in small groups on pre-math, pre-reading, writing, and fine motor skills. Arts and crafts, computer, science, sensory, and cooking activities are offered at this time. Activities planned at the centers will be supervised and facilitated by the classroom teachers and assistant teachers.
SNACK TIME
Students help prepare and serve a healthy snack to their classmates. Important social skills and table manners are practiced during this time.
FREE CHOICE
Students may work on projects they did not complete during centers, engage in free play, or participate in a simple, self-directed activity.
MOVEMENT- GROSS MOTOR PLAY
Students will go outside, weather permitting, to play on the school grounds or take a walk around the neighborhood. Organized group activities will focus on skills such as throwing, catching, running, jumping, hopping....
STORIES, SONGS, FINGER PLAYS
This time includes children's literature read aloud by the teacher, songs, and finger plays that go along with our themes.

Full Day Preschool Schedule7:00 AM: CREATIVE KIDS OPENS
Arrival and free choice activities are available for our students who arrive early each morning. 8:30 AM: BREAKFAST 9:00-9:15 AM: Our full day students go to their assigned classrooms to begin their day! 9:45 AM: MORNING MEETING 10:15 AM: CENTER ACTIVITIES 11:00 AM: MORNING SNACK 11:15 AM: OUTSIDE-GROSS MOTOR PLAY 11:40 AM: FREE CHOICE ACTIVITIES 12:00 PM: STORIES, SONGS, FINGER PLAYS 12:30 PM: LUNCH 1:15 PM: REST/QUIET TIME 3:00 PM: AFTERNOON SNACK 3:30 PM: OUTSIDE (WEATHER PERMITTING) OR INSIDE FREE CHOICE ACTIVITIES 4:00 PM-5:00 PM: Our full day students can use this time to work on projects that were not completed during the morning time, participate in teacher planned art, science, pre-math, pre-reading, writing, computer, sensory, and various other activities. Books and table toys are also an option for the students to use as they wait for their parents or guardians to arrive. 5:00 PM: CREATIVE KIDS CLOSES *TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE, BUT THE ORDER OF ACTIVITIES WILL USUALLY REMAIN CONSTANT.** |

SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAM
We offer a school age before and after school program at Creative Kids. The students are bused to and from Creative Kids Education Center by the Hollidaysburg School District buses. We are open for our school age students during school in-service days, school delays, and school cancellations. We also provide a summer camp for our school age students.
